Front End Developer

If you are a front end developer with a strong grasp of html, css and javascript with a passion for great design, then this position is for you! In the role of Front End Developer, in the Kajabi User Experience department, the opportunities to express your creativity and work on excited new projects are limitless.

You’ll be doing things like

• Building and maintaining custom themes with the liquid template language.
• Working on the html css and Javascript of our flagship application.
• Focusing on craftsmanship and great design, in both the products we create and the code and technical architecture that powers them.
• Helping to improve the reliability of our products by performing maintenance and bug fixes.
• Participating in code reviews for other front end developers on the team.

You’ll need to have

• HTML
• CSS / SCSS
• Javascript and jQuery
• Use of common CSS frameworks such as Bootstrap and Foundation
• Mobile responsive markup and styling
• Great eye for design
• Git and GitHub experience for version control

It’d be great if you have

• Experience with the liquid template language a plus.
• Experience with Ruby on Rails a plus.
• Basic knowledge of node and npm for asset build pipelines a plus.

Time Off, Working From Home, and Educational Allowances

All time off needs to be requested in Gusto as far in advance as possible . While we always understand that emergencies and illnesses do crop up unexpectedly, given the importance of the Front End Developer role in daily operations we ask for as much notice as possible for any time out of the office. Remember: sick is sick. If you’re unwell, we don’t expect you to work. It’s your responsibility to take care of yourself and get better!

As a guideline, we encourage 4 work-weeks (20 days) of PTO annually, as well as a few sick days if you’re under the weather. Keep in mind that 5 of these PTO days will be our winter break (the week that falls between Christmas and New Years Day) as we want to encourage that time spent with family, friends, and preparing for the year ahead. Work from home opportunities may happen from time to time and need to be pre-approved by the Vice President of User Experience.

Educational opportunities will be offered for the Front End Developer at the discretion of the VP of User Experience, and could include participating in a mentorship program, training to further specific career goals, books or digital content to supplement education, and attendance at conferences areas of interest and impact for Kajabi’s overall goals and the Front End Developer’s desired career goals.

One-On-One Process

The Front End Developer will meet Regularly with the VP of User Experience to catch up and discuss their role. The goal of these meetings is to identify areas where the Front End Developer can improve, what areas they’re needing more guidance on, and where the Kajabi leadership team can lend time or resources to help meet career goals. It’s also a time to discuss specific expectations and discuss any areas of concern you may have about your job or your team.
